Volunteer costs for 2024 are:

$3,620.00 (double or triple room in Nazareth and Jerusalem)

$5,195.00 (single room)

Cost includes four weeks (27 nights) of room and full board at the Galilee Hotel in Nazareth, four nights bed and breakfast in Jerusalem, in-country transportation, evening and on-site lectures, three educational day trips including admission into national parks, additional insurance required by the Israeli government (does not include medical insurance), criminal background check, and other incidental costs.

Not covered: flights.

The Israeli Ministry of Health posts its requirements for foreign nationals entering the country at https://corona.health.gov.il/en/abroad/arriving-foreign-nationals/. On December 29, 2023, that website contained the following notice: “Starting from Monday 15.5.23 at midnight (between Monday and Tuesday) – there are no longer COVID restrictions on entering Israel from abroad.” The government could, however, reinstate restrictions. Participants are encouraged to purchase additional insurance coverage that includes major medical expenses, hospitalization, medical evacuation, and trip interruption. Participants should confirm that Israel and any other travel destinations are covered in their chosen insurance and should bring policy information and international contact number with them during their travel.

Once your application has been accepted, your $500 deposit is due to Mary’s Well Tours Feb 15, 2024. Payment of fees in full is due March 15, 2024. Contact James Strange (jrstrang@samford.edu) if you must miss a deadline. In the event of a refund, Mary’s Well will charge 4% to cover credit card fees and bank transfer fees.

Travel Arrangements

To make travel arrangements, including adjusting costs for length of stay, contact Mary’s Well Tours. If you arrange your own flight and wish to drive with the group from the airport to the hotel, be at Ben Gurion Airport when the group’s flight arrives.
